Curtin Law Clinic

The project intends to express and reveal the beautiful detailing and features of the heritage buildings ceilings. Exploring the concept of vertically in terms of fluid or linear forms, colour schemes and ranging heights, using strong vertical elements throughout the building gives subtle expressions towards the buildings function and draws attention towards its historical elements.

Pushing the concept of verticality into physical forms; circular and square with horizontal ‘roofing’ above, create an almost enclosed and individual space. The enclosures are formed by individual acoustic timber battens and acoustically sound curtains, allowing occupants to still feel connected to their surroundings once inside the structure. The structures also vary in heights, therefore, once within the structure eyes are drawn upwards and subtle glimpses of the ceiling details are revealed.
